This pair of Sandhill Cranes, who mate for life, stopped by and had early breakfast at our lake in Punta Gorda, Florida. Their sinchronized movements reminded me of dancers in Swan Lake. Something spooked them and they immediately stood straight and as if saying “You look that way and I’ll look this way,” they rotated in opposite directions looking for who or what spooked them. Maybe it was me. We’ll never know. But I was able to get a few good photos as they rotated and then went back to synchronized feeding.

Such wonderful birds. The lighting perfectly accentuates their feather detail and red head.

I think I could easily become a birdwatcher. Super shot. Great focus and clarity on the birds.

I've been enjoying a family of sandhill cranes that visit us almost daily. Magnificent birds. Great capture.

Thank you very much, Gary. These sandhill cranes seem like a nice, affectionate couple, happy in their ability to feed together. We should all be so lucky!

Beautiful photo of these Sandhill Cranes..I have always wanted to see them when 20,000 winter in McNeal, AZ at the Whitewater Draw Wildlife Area. They're here from November through early March. L, F
