About Gary F Richards

Gary F Richards Gary F Richards was born in 1949 and he has a God given gift. All through his childhood he was able to draw anything in detail. Teachers encouraged him to become an artist but in rural farm country of northern New Hampshire it was difficult to find opportunity. His family discouraged him from pursuing it. So instead Gary went into computer science and programming in which he did well, but it wasn’t his passion. That was his career for 45 years. Now he is retired and has begun to pursue his passion in art.

When Gary was working at Bell Laboratories in his 20s he took the Famous Artists course to enhance his natural talent. Through the years he has taken short courses in various artistic techniques and styles. Since retirement he has pursued art more seriously. Several of of his recent projects are presented here. He likes painting landscapes, seascapes, birds, animals, and vehicles. He has also painted and drawn human figures and portraits. Gary paints primarily in acrylics, digital computer art, charcoal, scratchboard, and watercolors.
