This image from my garden reminds me of those on the heart transplant list, and the new hearts given from those who have lost their lives. The faded shriveled caladium on the right is replaced by the new bright caladium in the center. The sun-kissed right lobe of the caladium “heart” next to the white garden trellis reminded me of new life-giving force, which is emphasized with the white heart spray. I painted the background with hearts in complementary colors to emphasize the theme of heart transplants around the world.
