Description
The leading lady, about to go onstage, sits by the edge of the curtain, back to the audience and shyly turns her head to look over her shoulder to assess the crowd. The spotlights come on and she knows it is time. To the audiences amazement they realize she is a beautiful palomino horse. This is the image that struck my mind when seeing the rock formation in this small part a much larger beautiful landscape photograph graciously shared by a friend.
As a child we would lay on the grass looking up at the clouds trying to find animals or objects in the formations of them. I still love finding these anomolies of nature mimmicking other things, called pareidolia. The original photograph was taken at Point Reyes National Seashore in California, USA. I made slight color changes and overall lighting to add some charm. Then I added the two spotlights to complete the effect. But the rock formation and the moss growing on it giving it the shadow are untouched and totally natural.
Point Reyes National Seashore is a 71,028-acre (287.44Â km2) park preserve located on the Point Reyes Peninsula in Marin County, California. As a national seashore, it is maintained by the US National Park Service as an important nature preserve. Some existing agricultural uses are allowed to continue within the park. Clem Miller, a US Congressman from Marin County wrote and introduced the bill for the establishment of Point Reyes National Seashore in 1962 to protect the peninsula from development which was proposed at the time for the slopes above Drake's Bay. All of the park's beaches were listed as the cleanest in the state in 2010.
